[] League Rules Update
2012-11-05

Dear League Captains,

As there have been some confusion and enquiries regarding some of the rules and items mentioned during the league briefing, I would like to highlight certain points and rules for the benefit of those that were not present at the league briefing or were not clear/ did not hear clearly during the league briefing.

Highlighted Rules and Guidelines regarding Match Format

1. All games need to scan cards. For Trios, since Phoenix does not have Trios games, the game to be played will be a "2 player" 01 or Cricket match. The middle class player (B Class for Lower Division, or A Class for Higher Division) will scan their card so the other classes rating will not be changed much. This is necessary to record the scores of the games.

2. For Team Freeze Doubles Set, please proceed to 01 Menu, proceed to 501, then proceed to the option "Team". The User Interface for Team Freeze rule has been updated a little, but this option is STILL for Freeze Rule.

3. Home team starts all Trios sets, Away team starts all Doubles sets & Single sets is started by the "Winning" team of the previous set. In the rare occasions where Singles is played first (ex. 3 players from each class have not arrived yet), then the Home team will start the Singles first. Other than that rare exception, for all Singles set (Except GM Class Singles for Higher Division), the winner of the previous set will start the single sets. Loser of the first leg, will start the second leg. As for the 3rd leg for Singles set, if necessary, players will cork (Bulls up) and winner of the cork will choose game (Either between the 2 types of games being played for that set, eg Count Up or Cricket Count Up) and the other person will start first. Home team will always cork first.

Highlighted Rules and Guidelines regarding Match Results

4. If there are any mistakes discovered during the set (by a rostered player from either teams) regarding the type of game or the game format or the options, the entire LEG of the set is replayed from beginning. If there was a previous leg played and nobody noticed the mistake then, the results for that previous leg and the results of all previously completed sets will remain. Only that particular leg when the mistake was discovered, will be replayed from beginning. We emphasise that it is the responsibility of BOTH team captains to ensure that the correct game is played and the correct options are set for the game.

5. If there are any mistakes discovered during the set (by a rostered player from either teams) regarding the players playing that set (eg. wrong players playing the set as assigned on the score sheet or wrong class players playing a particular set or players who are not qualified to play that set as they were substituted out or not rostered and not registered to play for the day), the entire SET is replayed from beginning. This includes any previous legs that were played and completed. However the results for any previous sets that were played and completed will remain. Only the set when the mistake was noticed will be replayed from beginning. The entire set and every leg in that set will be replayed. We emphasise that it is the responsibility of BOTH team captains to ensure that the correct players are playing each and every set.

6. Once the entire match is completed, and both team captains sign the score sheets, the scores are FINAL. Any mistakes regarding any of the sets or players playing the sets will not be taken into consideration. Both team captains responsibility is to ensure that all the sets are played in its entirety and in the proper manner as following the rules. Once both team captains have verified the scores and have signed on the bottom, this match results has been finalised and will not be changed. We emphasise that it is the responsibility of BOTH team captains to check all the scores and results for the day before signing and submitting the scoresheets to Phoenix.

Highlighted Rules and Guidelines regarding league etiquette

7. Players are reminded to follow the rules of dress code as indicated in the rules and regulations. Any players that is spotted with the incorrect dress code will be given one warning and after which, the player will not be allowed to play in the league match unless he/ she changes to follow the appropriate dress code.

8. Players are reminded to bring their Phoenix card and scan their card during all legs of all sets and of all matches. Any players that forget or does not bring their Phoenix card will be given one warning and after which, the player will not be allowed to play in the league match without his/ her Phoenix card.

9. So as not to unintentionally drag the game too long, players are strictly not to take smoking breaks during a set, between legs. Players are recommended to take smoking breaks during sets that they are not participating in, so that all sets can continue smoothly and without disruption immediately after the previous set is completed. If there are 2 or 3 continuous set involving the same particular player, that player can request a bathroom or smoke break between the sets, but not between the legs. We seek the cooperation and understanding of all league players to abide by this so as to ensure that the league matches are all completed on time and not delayed unnecessarily.

Any Other Highlighted Rules

10. Team captains are reminded to request any substitutes, replacements, additions or changes to their roster and line up for the match at least 2 hours before match time (before 6 pm). The league director will confirm this change and inform both team captains by 7 pm, 1 hour before the match time.

11. Home team captains are reminded to submit fully completed and signed (by both Team Captains), score sheets by the next day after the completion of the match. This is to ensure that results can be promptly updated on the website and Facebook. It is recommended for Away Team Captains to take a photo of the scoresheets for their own records.

For any further enquiries or questions, please feel free to contact League Director Kenneth @ 9820 6352 by phone call or sms/ whatsapp. We have sms out to all Team Captains to refer to these updated highlighted rules and it is the responsibility of the Team Captains to not only read through and fully understand these rules, but also to proceed to pass down the information to their entire team.

These highlighted and updated rules will take precedence over all previous rules discussed during the league briefing or in the league rules book given out during the league briefing. This is to ensure there is no confusion or misunderstandings from points stated during the previous league briefing and league rules.

Best Regards,
Tornament Director
